TED TALKS PROJECT…What I’ve Learned.

April 15, 2008

Hi.

My TED talks project is on child poverty as you may know. Poverty is a major world problem that many people are trying to solve. In the whole world 270 million children have no access to health care. Also because of poverty 2.2 million children die each year because they are not immunized. 15 million children are also orphaned due to HIV and AIDS (similar to the child population of Germany or the united kingdom.) less then one percent of the money that was spent on weapons could have put every child in school by the year 2000…but it didn’t happen. Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read or write. I think it is sad that all these children have to suffer and starve because of the place they live in. There is plenty of food n the world for everyone… The problem is that all the hungry people are trapped in poverty. At the beginning of this project I thought Child poverty wasn’t that huge of an issue, but then I looked in to it and researched about it. I found that child poverty is a major issue. I know that now, And now I realize how lucky I am to have a house or to have food. That’s what I have learned during this TED talks project.

bye =)
