What Is Culture?

Hi me again.

I think that culture is what makes you who you are. For example the language you speak your religion, your traditions, and your beliefs, even the food you eat and the people you live with have to do with your culture. You’re language affects your culture because it shows where you originated from; it shows that you came from where you did. You’re religion (if you have one) also effects your culture because you may or may not attend church or you might do another religious ceremony. Your traditions in your family show culture through what you have been doing throughout generations. Your beliefs are also a big part of your culture because it symbolizes what you were taught and what your generations before you were taught. The food part of your culture may be a family recipe or even just the place it comes from, you may have Mexican food or Chinese food or anything else. It would represent where you come from or where your ancestors came from.

Mr. Fisher asked us “if you could put 3 aspects of your culture into a box what would they be?” If I were to put three things in a box to keep about my religion it would have to be some old family cook books of my grandmothers because it would represent the food of my culture. I would put in the celebration plate. The celebration plate is a tradition that we have, whenever we do something that we are proud of for instance get exempted or we win a big game we get to eat of that special plate. I would put it in to represent traditions. And last but not least I would put in my moms hope chest. I would put it in because it has items from generations before me to help me imagen their life too. That is what I would put in my box of culture
