I love this book, you won’t believe what happened! So, Ponyboy and Johnny were walking cherry and Marcia home and their boyfriends show up. now like I said before you don’t see greasers and socs around together allot so when the socs saw their girlfriends around with greasers they got mad, they took cherry and Marcia home and went out and got drunk, Meanwhile Ponyboy and Johnny were sitting on the curb of the lot and fell asleep, When Johnny woke Ponyboy up it was about 2:00 am. Ponyboy ran home just to get yelled at by his older brother darry, soda tried sticking up for pony but darry just yelled at him too until Ponyboy yelled DONT YELL AT MY BROTHER! And then darry turned around and hit pony, and i’m not talking about a light tap on the head I mean he was hit and hit hard. Pony turned and ran out the door, he found Johnny and told him that they were running away, they ran until they could run no longer and then they walked, when they were right around the park some socs came around and they were the same ones that they had taken their girls earlier that evening. They said, you need a bath greaser? and then bob(one of the greasers) grabbed pony and shoved his head in a fountain, pony was just about drowned when Johnny pulled him out and told ponyboy what had happened…Johnny had killed the socs. The first thing that they thought to do was to go ask dally what to do, he lived in new York and had scene these things go on all the time, so when they went to see dally he told them to get on the next train to Windrixville, and to buy a weeks worth of food, then they were supposed to live inside an old abandoned church, dally gave them a gun, fifty dollars and some dry cloths. When they had their supplies the hid by the tracks and when the train stopped they got on an empty train car and stayed there for the rest of the night, in the morning they jumped off the train and went to go find the old church on Jay Mountain, when they found it they fell into an automatic sleep. My favorite part of these chapters is when he stood up for soda because that showed that Ponyboy loved soda allot, enough to get hit for it.

Hey Kate here,
In class were reading the best book ever(in my opinion) it’s called the outsiders. The Outsiders is a book about a life where there are two groups, the greasers and the socs (so-sh-is). The Greasers are the poor, gangs that are like hoods, they are wilder then the socs too. the greasers steel things drive old beat-up cars and they have gang fights evrey now and then. The socs (an abreviation of sicials) on the other hand, the beat greasers up for fun, These socs are the richer kids on the west side, these kids have good grades, fancy cars, lots of money, and a good reputation, these are the kids who could have a news paper artical about how bad they are and then the next day they could have the news paper saying how good they are. It was rare to see the greasers and the socs hangin’ around together. But this story is from the point of ponyboy, and yes ponyboy is his real name. Ponyboy had two older brothers and no parents, Ponyboys brother sodapop A.K.A soda had movie-star looks and was nice and understanding to ponyboy,he dropped out of school at a young age and he had a girlfriend named sandy and he was planning on marrying her( don’t tell anyone) dally, his other brother was the oldest of the group of boys, he was tough as nails and provided for the family, dally made it through school and was a football player, he had a scholership for football bhut diddnt use it because he had to work and take care of the others. Ponyboys parents died in a car crash a while back, when i stopped reading at the end of chapter two ponyboy had just met a girl named cherry, she was a socs and she seemed nice. Well thats it for these two chapters…Theres more to come so i’ll post it when I read it =)

In class we had a skype call with people in St. Elisabeth School in Los Angeles, Skype is a program like msn is except it has video, you can talk to multipul people, and it is a bit slower. During this Skype call we talked about power and how the feeling of power can effect a couple. I learned a lot from this project like how power can be lots of things like love, government, a feeling, athority, family ect. I also Learned that even if you live in a small town in the middle of nowere it can be paradice to people that live in a big city, This Project was worth all of the work that was put into it, I realy learned alot

Hey, Kate here,
in my previous posts you might have noticed that I have been writing about different short stories, the veldt and the bet.
These two stories may have been written by different people and published in different years but they do have there similarities and of course there differences.
in both of these stories there is a tale of sacrifice and loss.
the sacrifice part of the two stories would be the death of the parents in the veldt and the years of freedom and money lost in the story of the bet.
Another event that happens in the two stories is when the time came, it was like the whole thing never happened.
The banker in the bet diddnt loose any thing, the daughter in the veldt diddnt care, it was like nothing happened.
In the end you can learn a lot by just reading and comparing.

Hey, Kate here.
I’m going to write about the story The Veldt, this story is about a family that lives in the future, and this family contains a mother a father and two 10 year old children named Wendy and Peter, coincidence? Not quite, you might recognize those names from the famous story of Peter Pan. The author goes by the name of Ray Bradbury. Recently we’ve had to read this story to find the meanings of relationship and power in the story. This story can be found in a sightlines 8 text book or online. I like this story that Ray Bradbury wrote because it was written a while back and it still indicates what the future might hold. A veldt is an African grassland where you might find lions, giraffes zebras vultures, etcetera.
In the end, This is a great peice of work

Hey, it’s Kate.
I’m going to write about something that we’ve all herd about before, maybe your mom has said it to you before, desire and need, and how you tell the difference. The things that you need are things like food shelter water things like that, but if you desire something it might be something like an ipod or a computer. But there is a reason that people don’t always get what they want, if people always got what they wanted then everyone on the planet earth, and possibly mars would be spoiled. Another reason would be that people would not be open minded because of always having things go there way. Some more consequences of having everything that you desire would be:
1) Your personality would change, you would be used to having your ideas stand out and not giving anyone else a chance to give there ideas.
2) You would loose your friends because of your bossiness towards them and others that you care about.
3) You might not have that good of a relationship because no one would want to be connected to a person with a need for attention and then the person who’s with the one that always gets what they want would have no say in anything.
Power is another factor of a relationship, there is power in a relationship by love, love is one of the strongest forces that hold people together, there is also the power to speak your mind when your with someone that you love because you know that the person is not going to laugh at you because of the bond that you have with them, that’s power. So if there’s any time that your unsure if you need it or desire it, just ask yourself, can I live without it?
